GOLFERS HELP RAISE FUNDS FOR COLLEGE

JOSHUA TREE, CA – Copper Mountain College held its 23rd annual golf tournament on April 21st and 22nd at the Roadrunner Dunes Golf course in Twentynine Palms with 37 players.

Each year the CMC Foundation holds its annual golf tournament to help raise funds to support the development of CopperMountainCollege.

Gary Stephens-left H adjThis years winner in the Championship Flight that consisted of golfers playing with out handicaps was Gene Swella with a score of 142, followed by Gary Stephens with 144 and Joe Vincent with 145.

In addition to the Championship flight there were three other categories where players received trophies. In the Ladies Flight Kay Rawle came in first with 138, Marila Swella came in with 150 and Maggie Chaffer with 153.  The First flight played by golfers with handicaps through 13 was won by Jim Yockey at 132, Richard Casey at 132, and Bob Thompson at 134. In the Callaway flight for golfers with out established handicaps Matt McCormick, Justine Simpson and Don Dennis all came in with 146.

The Executive Director of the Foundation said, “there are two goals every year for the tournament, raise funds that can help aid CMC while making sure the golfers have a great time, and both of these goals were accomplished”.
